Four GiS students have attended the Bermun2 conference at the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Berlin from Feb 28-March 2, 2019, where the challenging topic “Advancing Climate Action: The Key to a Sustainable Future” was discussed.
What does Bermun stand for? Bermun is an abbreviation for Berlin Model United Nations which is a simulation of the United Nations conference, organised and run by students. In total there are six committees in which the delegates of each country debate in. We, the delegates Yasmin Streckrodt, Iva Cicin-Sain, Medina Busch and Gianna Knapp, have very much enjoyed representing Brazil. All of us have especially liked the fruitful debates that we were able to participate in as well as the international friendships that we have made during those three days at the conference. It has been a positive impact on our lives as we feel more informed on this urgent topic itself and the various points of view on it.
Vier SChülerinnen des GiS haben vom 28.02.- 02.03. 2019 die Bermun2 Konferenz an der Konrad-Adenauer Stiftung in Berlin besucht. Diskutiert wurde die Thematik „“Advancing Climate Action: The Key to a Sustainable Future”.
Wofür steht Bermun? Bermun ist eine Abkürzung für “Berlin Model United Nations”. Diese Simulation, die von Schülern organisiert und geleitet wird, stellt eine UN-Konferenz nach. In sechs Ausschüssen debattieren die „Abgeordneten“ der einzelnen Länder in englischer Sprache. Wir, die Delegierten Yasmin Streckrodt, Iva Cicin-Sain, Medina Busch und Gianna Knapp, haben es sehr genossen ,das Land Brasilien zu repräsentieren, wobei es besonders herausfordernd war, immer überzeugend den Standpunkt dieses Landes in den sehr produktiven Debatten zu vermitteln. Auch haben wir internationale Freundschaften knüpfen können, so dass die Konferenz insgesamt für uns eine positive Erfahrung für unser Leben war. Wir sind nun wesentlich besser über dieses aktuelle und brisante Thema informiert und haben auch unser Verständnis von internationalen Beziehungen erweitern können.
